The Lineage

Passed hand to hand.

Not learned from a book or an app — given in person, slowly, the way these practices have always moved from one person to the next.

Six Months
A Lineage Holder

Six months under one roof.

Single Point Meditation came to Yaakov directly from a lineage holder he lived alongside for six months. The practice wasn't picked up in a weekend workshop — it was absorbed slowly, in daily company, the way it has been carried for generations.

  • Transmitted in person, day after day
  • A direct line, not a reconstruction
  • Simple enough to become wholly your own
Warm-Up · Cool-Down
Breath Work

Warmed and settled by the breath.

Gentle breath work opens and closes each sitting — a few minutes to slow the body down at the start, and a few more to carry the calm out into the rest of your day. The breath is the doorway; the count is the room.

  • Eases you into stillness
  • Lowers the heart rate and the noise
  • Leaves the calm with you afterward

The Practice Itself

One point. One count.

Single Point Meditation is exactly what it sounds like: you rest your full attention on one point and hold it there, using a simple count to keep the mind from drifting. No mantra, no app, no special equipment — just a single point, the breath, and the numbers.

1 Breathe in
Rest on one point

Settle your attention on a single anchor and let everything else fall to the background.

Count, then reverse

One up to ten, then ten back down to one — a loop with a clear beginning and end.

Wander, then begin again

The moment you notice you've drifted, return to one. The returning is the practice.

That's the whole thing. Its power isn't in being complicated — it's in being simple enough to do every day, and repeatable enough that the calm starts to carry over into the hours after you stand up.

Inside a Sitting

How a sitting unfolds.

01

Warm Up

A few minutes of breath work to settle the body and slow everything down before you begin.

02

The Count

Attention rests on a single point as you count one to ten, then ten back to one. When the mind wanders — and it will — you simply begin again.

03

Cool Down

More breath work to close, carrying the calm out of the sitting and into the rest of your day.

Why Sit

What stillness gives back.

Calm After You Stop

The practice is built around the quiet that arrives once the sitting ends — not just the stillness during it.

Less Anxiety

For many practitioners, regular sitting measurably lowers everyday anxiety over time.

Stronger Focus

Returning attention to a single point, again and again, trains concentration like a muscle.

A Steadier Mind

Over weeks, the steadiness built on the cushion starts to show up everywhere else.

Questions

Common Questions

Do I need any experience to start?

None at all. Single Point Meditation is built for beginners — the counting structure gives your mind something simple to hold onto, which is exactly what makes it approachable when you're new to sitting.

Is this religious or spiritual?

No. The practice is about attention and breath, nothing more. Students of any background — or none — practice it comfortably.

What if my mind keeps wandering?

That isn't failure — it's the practice itself. Noticing that you've drifted and gently returning to the count is the whole exercise. Everyone wanders. The returning is what builds the focus.

Can I practice on my own afterward?

Yes — that's the point. The method is simple enough to carry with you and do anywhere, any time. Yaakov's role is to pass it on clearly so it becomes yours.

How long is a session?

Sessions are kept to a length that suits the practice and your experience. Reach out and Yaakov will walk you through the options.
